An extra new experience - packing out poop. I had done it before on a two week river trip down the Grand Canyon (in an army ammo can) but I never had to carry it in my pack before. Above is the bag provided with the hiking permit, (already full).
The red shirt now removed and packed up it is fully warm out - excellent hiking temperature for hiking in cool water (what ever it was).
Here the dry trail went pretty high up before merging back. At one point I found a trail that looked like it went around a very large boulder but it turned out to be a trail out of the canyon. When I got about 100 feet up I could see it wasn't going back down so I had to turn around and go back.
